The first thing you should know is I'm not your usual suspect.
I didn't grow up on the west coast nor was I born to "naked" people. My journey into this practice, like the practice itself, has been a wild and winding path. My career began at the age of twenty-one as the founder and editor of a Latino pop culture magazine. I spent the next six years freelancing every angle of media production as a columnist, editor, publicist, and web content creator mostly in the field of entertainment. Working with various well-known consumer magazines, websites and media outlets such as Time Warner, NBC, and The Oxygen Network, my life was once the wet-dream of any young person living in New York-- packed with parties and paparazzi and all the trappings of glamour that such a life implies. Luckily, the fast-track very quickly leads to burn-out, and it didn't take me long to grow tired of the superficiality and emptiness inherent in that field. I got here because I was looking for substance.
Many people turn off to holistic practices because they imagine a set of loony New Age concepts that have little basis in reality. I know because I was one of them. As a native New Yorker, I am a natural skeptic and not very fond of fluff. Although I am deeply connected to my Higher Power and have, since childhood, a profound understanding of the esoteric, I am also quite grounded and know how to extract the practical wisdom from any ideology. I teach Tantra because it works and because it is completely relevant to our current society and the state of our relationships. I do not consider Tantra "sex work" nor are my sessions intended for entertainment or gratification. My intention is to turn you on to something else: the wisdom of your body and the infinite Power that is your sensuality.
In addition to holding a Bachelors Degree in Writing, Literature, and the Arts from the New School for Social Research, I am currently working towards an MSW. I studied Tantra formally under Dr. Corryna Clark and Daka Shawn Roop in the Goddess Temple's Dakini Certification Program, and am certified as a Tantra Instructor through TantraQuest. I have been exposed to Tantric, Vinyasa, and Kundalini yoga, and the sexually enlightened teachings of Osho, Mantauk Chia, Margo Anand, Carla Tarantola, Regena Thomashauer, Dr. Steve Bodansky, and Charles and Caroline Miur. I have also trained with Chandra Devi in The School of Divine Bliss' Absolute Lovers series.
